A Grandjean Jourdan for Vallauris wood grain ceramic lidded decanter. Features an asymmetric cut out, made in France circa 1950s. The decanter is made from painted ceramic that has been designed to imitate wood grain, a technique called faux bois. Imprinted Vallauris twice to base.
Atelier Grandjean Jourdan was active in Vallauris from the 1950s to 1981. The studio was known for its 'Faux Boix' decoration, in which ceramics were painted to resemble olive wood.
Near perfect condition.
