Pair of Stripe/Check Barro Negro Vases
This pair of feminine shaped Barro Negro vases have beautiful etched stripe and check surface decoration featuring a mix of smooth and textured finishes, that has become synonymous with the San Bartolo. It was the extraordinary Doña Rosa, who revived the town's pottery reputation in the 1950’s by combining burnishing techniques used elsewhere with a lower firing that allowed the unique properties of the clay to shine through creating a deep black surface, which glows from within.
Recommended for use with dried flowers.
