Modernist Maquette Sculpture, Polished Plaster, Wood, H 25cm
A sculptor's maquette made from white plaster, finished in polished wax, fixed and mounted on a black wooden plinth. Modernist style, similar to that of Henry Moore. The surface treatment of the torso gives the piece a stone-like finish. The wax polishing adds a slight sheen to the surface.
Stamped marks on underside of plinth and a cipher on the rear edge of the piece.
